Expectations
I belong to an artist’s message board that chooses a weekly topic for members to post on their blogs about. This week’s word is Expectations, and I think that is a great word for how I feel about Spring.
Last week I cleared off my shelves and started up the grow lights in preparation for starting some seeds (you can learn how to build your own- in this post). So on March 15th, I filled 3 seed flats and planted the Multicolored Impatiens, Phlox of Sheep, and Cambridge Blue Lobelia seeds I saved from my garden last year. In a matter of days, they were all up and growing well, as usual. I fully expect that I will have flats of pretty flowers to fill planters with, tuck into my garden, and to give away.
Things are starting to warm up here in Michigan, and I have the wonderful expectation that soon the crocuses will give way to tulips and daffodils, the apricot will bloom, then the peach and cherry trees, the juneberry and the crab apple. Even though it passes quickly here in Michigan, it is a beautiful season, full of promise for a wonderful summer. And I have full expectations that I will get to enjoy it in my garden.
What beautiful flower photos you have in here! It’s grand that you can work outside in your garden during the warm months…very refreshing and soothing for the soul.
Wonderful pic of your garden! I’m jealous! 😉 I fully agree…. Spring is full of expectations!
Gorgeous photo!
